As the metaverse expands, you can BYO platform

When it comes to engaging in immersive experiences, businesses are jumping head first into open platforms like Decentraland, Meta’s Horizon Worlds, or VRChat. These platforms are synonymous with the metaverse today. Due to their newness, they are also the wild west of the internet, a frontier period when new paradigms are being discovered and implemented daily and checks, balances and safety nets have yet to be established.

This is where BYO platform comes in, when you bring your own environment, authentication and management and let us provide the special metaverse sauce. Because, for businesses to embrace all the benefits of the metaverse, it must be on-brand, secure and safe.

Real-time nature that’s managed by you

I can’t deny the siren song that is user generated content, constantly changing worlds and avatars are certainly a compelling value proposition. When you reconcile this with corporate standards or brand guidelines however, it can be very hard to manage.

Say you’re a premium brand making your first foray into the metaverse, and you’ve constructed a virtual flagship store for people to visit. You’ve agonised over the details to make sure it’s welcoming and your products look compelling. Your first visitor is an Elephant with fire hydrants for arms. Your second is a skeleton with a top hat and monocle. Your third is a tiny anime style corgi. They admire the space for a moment before loudly arguing over the intricacies of a famous webcomic. For unapparent reasons, they then begin drawing portraits of Generation 1 Transformers characters all over the walls.

For the premium brand, this is less than ideal.

We offer organisations the opportunity to gatekeep content and provide all of the fun immersion without wild west behaviour being a price of entry. Our immersive environments offer plenty of interactivity in the areas where it matters most, we want to generate excitement, create a chance to get to know others within a community, swap ideas as a group as well as in private messages, and even provide some friendly competition through multi-player games.

If a game doesn’t meet your brand’s expectations, remove it, or swap in another one which does. Moderate the chat too if you like, to ensure nothing being said reflects poorly on the brand.

Basically - we’ve made a “business casual” metaverse. We’re immersing people free from distraction and in a business friendly manner. If you want to appear as an avatar it will be immediately recognisable as you and serve a very specific networking purpose. You’ll never encounter Yoda as a distraction along the way.

Security

If you decide to host an event or virtual space on the Curiious platform, and want to surface internal content, you won’t be having to hand over that content to us in order to do so. I firmly believe that the best company to secure your data is you.

As we aggregate your content to bring an immersive world to life, those files remain on your server, behind your firewall and access controlled to your specifications.

I like to think of this as putting all your prized possessions behind a velvet rope. It’s there for you and your users to enjoy, but also prevents ner-do-wells taking crayons to it.

Safety for all

Whether the bring your own concept enables you to keep your chat channels clean, gatekeep sensitive information or ‘remove the arms’ of those roaming the internet accosting others, we are enabling safe experiences for your business and all of those you care about most.
